Gary Kaufman is a psychologist who owns a consulting firm. Normally, he spends his time flying around the country helping staff nuclear power plants. But when an ankle replacement grounded him for three months, the story that had been kicking around in his head finally found its way to paper, and The Great Hunters was born.

“I was a third grader in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, when science fiction hooked me. I devoured books like the Tom Swift, Jr. series and The Skylark of Space by ‘Doc’ Smith. It’s no surprise that now I chose to write an old-school, hard science story—no wizards, magic, or palace intrigues—just a rip-roaring space opera with compelling characters, human evolution, and the Earth threatened by a brutal alien species.”

I am especially grateful to my daughter and son who have helped with this project. Thank you, Sarah, for using your superb artistic skills to paint the cover for the book, and thank you, Andrew, for putting your acting chops to work for the audio recordings. Thank you both so much!
